The state is of a tropical climate. The summer in Chhattisgarh is quite hot as temperature ranges from 40 - 42 degree Celsius. Heavy rainfall is noted during Monsoon ( end of June to August) and winters ( December to January) are quite pleasant.

Important Tourist Destination :
The State of Chhattisgarh is full of rare wildlife, ancient monuments, exquisitely carved temples, palaces, Buddhist sites, water falls, rock paintings, caves, and hill plateaus. The pre-historic paintings at Bhoramdeb are supposed to be mini Khajuraho. The Ratanpur Achanakmar Wildlife Sanctuary is a home to some of the rare animals, birds, reptiles and plants.

By air : The air infrastructure in Chhattisgarh is very meager and the lone airport is situated at Raipur. Recently, traffic in Raipur airport has increased to a little extent. The flights from Raipur airport connect Chhattisgarh to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bhopal, Indore and Chennai. There are flights that connect the state with Jaipur, Nagpur, Bhubaneshwar, Gwalior, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Vizag.
By road : The road infrastutrustire is comparatively in a better state than its air infrastructure. There are a total of 11 national highways that cross through the state. Several cities in adjacent states such as Mumbai, Kolkata, Vishakhapatnam, and Hyderabad can be reached via highways that pass from Chhattisgarh.
By Train : The state’s rail transport comes under the supervision of South East Central railway. The rail junction at Raipur and Durg are the origin of many long distance trains. |
