Achanakmar Sanctuary adores innumerable number of endangered species of animals. The surrounding area of the park is also worth seeing. This Wildlife Sanctuary was recognized in 1975.This wildlife sanctuary sways over an area of 557.51sqkm and is a (hilly forest).The Achanakmar Wildlife Sanctuary also undertakes the forest of Sal. It is connected by (Kanha Achanakmar Corridor) to Kanha Tiger Reserve. The height of this wildlife sanctuary is from (200 mts-1000mts) over the level of sea.

Animals like Striped Hyena, Wild Bear,Leopard,Chital,Gaur,Muntiacus,Black buck Antelope,Sambar,Sloth Bear,Jackal,Indian Wild Dog, Tiger Panthera,Wild Boar,4 horned Antelopes,Nilgai,Munyjac,Chital Axis, wild Boar etc.
The flora found in this forest is quite interesting as you will see Tropical forest of Sal,Bamboo,Bij and Saman other features of this Wildlife Sanctuary comprises of Malakal Hills, The pilgrim town of Teerthraj,and the confluence point of 3 rivers Sone River,Johila River and Narmada River.
