Jai Vilas Palace in Gwalior was constructed during the 19th century by Sir Michael Filose which is similar to the Italian palazzo .The palace was specially built for welcoming ‘Prince of Wales’ during his visit to India. For a long period this palace of Gwalior has resembled a very important atmosphere of India.
The palace displays many amazing sets of antiques & royal collectible items from around the World. There is a crystal staircase, largest chandeliers which weighs over 3 tones & there is a arched ceiling with attractive gold leaf work. The rooms of Jai Vilas Palace contains things like stuffed tigers, a life size statue of Leda, the renowned model train that carries dry fruits after dinner,etc. There is a jeweled slipper which was used by Chinkoo Rani & also the hunting trophies,portraits which really look good.
The Jai Vilas Palace is open all the days except Monday from 0930-1700. The place can be reached very easily as it is very popular in Gwalior. There are many other places which are very attractive around her like Moti Mahal, Royal Chhattris, and Memorial of Rani of Jhansi. |
