The state of Jharkhand was carved out of Bihar in the beginning of this millennium. Sharing its borders with many Indian states, it is an important industrial center of India. The cities of Jharkhand are significant from commercial as well as economic point of views and have played a substantial role in revenue generation of the state. The vast resources of minerals with which these cities are enthused, make this "land of forests' a self-sustaining one.

Bokaro, the steel city of India, is a hub of many industries that have thrived here successfully. Steel City is the major center of attraction here and is responsible for production of a large chunk of steel that India manufactures. The other attractions that you can look forward to visit here are Garga Dam, City Park, and Ispat Pustaklaya. There are a number of temples that are dedicated to several Hindu deities like Chinnamasta, Gayatri etc.

Ranchi, the capital city is blessed with a plethora of natural wealth and natural greenery. The attractions formed by bamboo forests, cascading waterfalls, and picturesque valleys are found in galore here. It is one of those cities of Jharkhand that are preferred by tourists from all over India. Its Sun Temple, Ranchi Hill, Kanke Dam are the sites worth visiting. The other attractions include Tiger Hill, Hatia Dam, and Jagannatha Temple.

Jamshedpur is the commercial city that is known for the its several Tata ventures including Tata Steel, Tata Motors, and many others. The vast natural resources like iron, coal, and limestone made it feasible for the realization of the dream envisioned by Jamshedpur Tata. While here, you can spend time roaming about in Jubilee Park and Rose Garden. These are blessed with breathtaking beauty and make the visit a pleasurable experience. Zoological Park, Tata Park, Domohani are the other picnicking places here. Pay a visit to Gol Pahari, Dalma sanctuary, and Hudco Lake to fantasize you with plush nature.

Among the other cities of Jharkhand that bathe in natural beauty is Hazaribagh. This second biggest coal reservoir has a number of thermal projects in its kitty. Its national park is the main attraction and allows you to peep into its wild life. Rajrappa, Surajkund, and Nargisthan Temple are the main pilgrimage centers here. Other lovely places present near it are Barso Pani, Canary Hills, and Bhadrakali Temple.

Another city of the state that is bestowed upon with coal mines is Dhanbad. This coal city of Jharkhand has attractions like Maithon Dam, Panchet Dam, and many nearby places.

Kodarma, India's mica capital, like other cities of Jharkhand, has topography of hills, mounds, and hillock. It is abundant both in natural as well as mineral deposits. Tilayia Dam, Waterfall are enchanting places to visit here.Satawagan

Last but not the least is Jharia which has vast coal deposits to boast off. With mammoth amount of bituminous coal deposits that form part of Damodar Valley, this city is a significant commercial center of the state.

There are several other small towns like Jadugura, Malkera, Hesla, Basaria, Gadhra, Chas, Deoghar, Gumia, Dugda, Bundu, Barajamda, Chandil, and many more.
