Most of the rainfall occurs during the months of July, August and September.

Devoid of any international airport, Jharkhand has its domestic airport at Ranchi. Regular flights from the domestic airport connect the state with cities like Kolkata, Patna, Mumbai and Delhi.
The transport of the state mostly relies on road and the state is a junction of two busy national highways. There are several extensive road network projects undertaken by state government. Silver line bus service is a major one in the state. Besides, private vehicles also run through the state.
Train is the oldest form of transport in the state and the main rail station of Jharkhand is located in Ranchi. South Eastern railways connect the state with some of the important cities like Patna and Rourkella through train on daily basis.
