Nestled within the states of extreme eastern corners of India the jeweled land of Manipur is generously blessed with Mother Nature. The oval-shaped valley of Manipur is surrounded by green and blue hills and is covered with cascading waterfalls, wide stretches of flower beds, tripping rivers and placid lakes. The tiny land of Manipur is inhabited with people who are identified with their characteristic hospitable nature.

The lone royal site of Manipur is at Moirang. The historical structures of Moirang will explain the brief yet glorious time of the state’s past. The glory of the Moirang Kangra palace makes its mark as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose commenced his march of Azad Hind Fauz from this site.

Twin domes at Shree Govindji temple is a sacred as well as historical site. The temple is a prime center for Vaishnavites for decades and it stores the shrines of Krishna and Balaram within its precincts. Another sacred site is Bishnupur where the Bishnu temple, built by atypical small bricks is believed to have Chinese influences on its raw materials. The town of Bishnupur is also famous for chiseled stoneware. The Kanina hillock is 921 mt high and is a holy place for Hindu people. The place becomes more beautiful to look at once the tales of its creation is narrated to tourists.

Loktak Lake is an absolute tiny inland sea, which is situated at near Imphal. The Sendre islands at Loktak Lake offer a brilliant panoramic view of the lake. The Red Hill if of great historical value as it is the site of battle between British and Japanese forces during Second World War. A monument constructed in the memory of slain Japanese soldiers is erected near the war site.

The lush greenery of the state makes Manipur a veritable place to discover nature’s; bounties.

The wildlife reserves of the state throbs every adventure lover’s heart as they witness the wealth of flora and fauna in the national parks and sanctuaries.
