The state of Manipur is a doorway to the (Northeastern Region) and a fascinating destination for discerning tourists. Myth says that sighting of this magnificent land is because of the pleasure the Divine Power took in dance. Sanctified with a healthy climate known for its characteristic cultural prototype its evergreen picturesque beauty and devout pilgrimage sways the tourists a pleasant incitement to visit the state of Manipur.

Some of the popular pilgrimage sites are :

Govindaji Temple :

This shrine is famous as (Imphal’s Golden Temple) and is a significant site for the Vaishnavite. Govindajee Temple is devoted to (Lord Krishna). Shri Govindajee temple, is the abode of 4 deities likely, Lord Vishnu, Lord Krishna, Lord Balaram and Lord Jagannath.This temple is also known for its architectural style.

Kaina :

This is a hillock placed approximately 920mts over sea level. Kaina is a renowned sanctified place for all the Hindus. Gorgeous hill bushes and delightful natural environs give Kaina a pious somberness.(29 kms) away from Imphal. As the legend follows, Shri Govindajee, emerged to His follower (Bheigyachandra), king of (Manipur), in his delusion and asked the king to construct a shrine protected with His own picture imprinted out of jackfruit tree that was then budding at Kaina. Traditional dances portraying the divine vision are executed as (Ras) at the special Mandap.

Vishnu Temple :

The town of Bishnupur, has been forenamed subsequent to a well known and past glorious shine devoted to (Lord Vishnu). This Vishnu shrine was built by the 15th century King Kiyamba.

According to the architecture, this shrine has many implications as it is said that it had an influence of Chinese architecture.
