In the state of Meghalaya, other main attraction for tourist to experience wildlife is the Nongkhyllem Sanctuary. It is the most popular wildlife sanctuaries which is located in the northern eastern part of this region. This sanctuary is stretched at an area of over twenty nine square kilometer which encloses a number of attractions. This place is not only meant for tourist attraction but it also comprises a wide range of wild beast including reptiles, rodents, avian, mammals, and many more. This wild species are rare and endangered, so they are not easily seen while wandering in the Nongkhyllem Sanctuary. Apart from the animals and other species residing here, it also comprises of a major amount of forest which gives a natural look to the sanctuary.

The Nongkhyllem Sanctuary is a famous holiday destination to explore in the state of Meghalaya.This park is located in the district of Ri-Bhoi which lies near the Lailad village. The sanctuary is situated at a very convenient place from where you can get easy access to reach the park and other closure destinations by road.

The two winged birds that dwell here are valued to watch, it is a perfect place for the birdwatchers.The most common bird species you can spot while exploring in the forest are the Rufous Necked Hornbill, Manipur Bush Quail, Brown Hornbill, and many more.
