Nagaland is a domicile place to different colorful tribes, where they observe various festivals over all the year; all their festivals are basically related to agriculture, so most of the festivals come after the sowing work is done for yielding, it is considered that there is a need of relaxation and enjoyment after such a hard work. People from all age groups enjoy to the fullest with music, dance and many other activities that are part of the celebrations, they show their love towards life by Nagas. There are three major festivals that the tribes of Nagaland celebrate they are as follows:
Hornbill Festival :
This festival is celebrated in the favor of tribes of Nagaland, this festival basic agenda is to bring together all the tribes. Hornbill Festival is organized by the government of Nagaland, to display the culture and tradition of the tribes in Nagaland. This festival falls in the month of April.
Moatsu Festival :
Moatsu Festival is celebrated by the Ao tribes in the 1st week of May every year, this festival is celebrated after the farmers are done with the sowing part. This festival is carried on for a week. The main attraction of this festival is the peppy songs and dances.
Monyu Festival :
Monyu festival is a festival dedicated to Phom tribes, this is regarded to be the grandest festival of celebrated in the month of April and this festival stretches for six days. This festival is celebrated in April month.
