At this place to the south of Puri the sea gets merged with the Chilika Lakes that creates the largest brackish lake in Asia and a spot of enthralling beauty. The shallow water present here creates mammoth areas of lowlands, island and marshes.

There are plenty of islands on the lake. There is a large fishing community that adds flavor to the Lakes with their beautiful and traditional sailing boats that sails across the water, even the beautiful marine life dwells here in Orissa. Apart from this the visitors can see the fisher folk while they are travelling on boats.

The chilika is not worth missing because of the beautiful scenario around, the winter months.It has the soothing air with din of the birds and it can be a wonderful time spent here. Rambha, Barkul, Balugaon and Satpada make Orrisa worth visiting.

The Orissa Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. (OTDC) at Barkul has specially organized many water sports facilities including Kayaking, Canoeing and boating. These complexes also have the water scooters for the beautiful trip.
