Located on the pleasant river of Mahanadi is a very idyllic island known as Dhabaleswar. The presence of the deity here are known as Lord Dhabaleswar which is believed to be the incarnation of the lord Shiva and this place is well known as great religious importance. This place is decorated with the intricate sculptures built in the period of 10th Century AD stand testimony that presents the antiquity of the temple.
Dhabaleswar attracts many of the pilgrims from all over India. Thousands of people come and visit the Dhabaleswar on the special occasion like Shivratri. Situated away from the villagers, and covered with the perennial Mahanadi, Dabhaleshwar gives a magnificent view for the visitors.

You can reach the island in both the ways by the Rivers and railways. The island is located at the distance of 4 kilometer away from Cuttack by water ways and around 12 kilometers by roadways. |
