Rail :
The closest railways station is located in New Jalpaiguri, it is almost one hundred twenty five kilometers away from the capital city of Sikkim state that is Gangtok. If you hire a taxi or a car then , you just need to cover a distance of four kilometers to reach this railway station from Gangtok. The New Jalpaiguri railway station is nicely linked to India's prime cities. You can book the railway tickets for Gangtok from the Sikkim nationalized transport terminus.
Air :

Road :
This state's capital city is very well linked to Kalimpong, Darjeeling and Siliguri through national highway No. 31. There are frequent buses services that run within the Sikkim state. There are also some private jeeps, buses and taxis the takes you from Siliguri towards Bagdogra. You can book the buses from Siliguri's SNT terminus.

Restrictions & Permits :
If you are a foreign tourist then you need to have proper permit to travel within Sikkim state. You need to request for permission when you apply for a visa. The permission might be valid for 2 weeks, the permission gets valid when you enter the state of Sikkim. This allows time to travel within villages and towns of Sikkim state.
Your permit also includes major southern belt over the Pemayangtse from Gangtok. Some specific areas of central Sikkim state & some region's responsive borders along with Tibet are entirely banned for foreigners. Sikkim state's other regions are unlocked for tourism but it does not contain within the regions that can be visited through your permit. You need an endorsement for some certain areas, a free and quick service that is offered by the Gangtok tourist information office. Trekking permits and visa extensions for a particular region too can be attained within Gangtok. Some of the remote areas such as Yumthang, Changu Lake and Dzongri only welcome group of foreigners, which are roaming with travel agents.
