Varsey or Barsey is a petite township in the (northeastern) Sikkim in the country of India. Situated at a height (10,000ft), the town of Barsey is famous for the (Rhododendron Sanctuary). Few of the kinds of (Rhododendron) which can be simply seen in this sanctuary are Prunus rufa, Pyrus foliolosa campanulatum hodgsoni, P. macrophylla,arboreum, barbatum cinnabarinum, falconeri, Betula utilis, Acer caudatum,and Pieris ovalifolia. Here, types of shrubs and Bamboo are also noticeable. The flora in the region is thick. |
