St Paul’s Cathedral :
Blemished glass windows, Italian frescoes, engraved wooden chairs and pews - the (St Paul's Cathedral) is one of the architectural pleasure and salve for the heart. The (Gothic-style) memorial provides a thwart to the busy city bordering it and is considered as the biggest church in the city of Kolkata. Timings: (9.00 am-12.00pm), (3.00 pm-6.00 pm), every day.
Kali Temple of Kalighat :
Dazzling marigold and hibiscus set alongside the margins of green, chimes, which clang throughout the day, recurrently saturated courtyard, and the permeating scent of incense, camphor and lamp oil, - the Kali shrine at (Kalighat) is 1 such place where one can imbibe in the sounds, sights and smells of Shakti reverence. It is said that this place of worship was constructed on the place where the finger of Mother Parvati fell. This temple is considered very powerful. Timings: (5.00am-3.00pm) and (5.00pm-10.00pm).
Bandel Church :
This is one of the oldest churches. Known for its Portugal style of architecture. Erected in the 1660, this church holds many significant fetes and is the main reason for the settlements of Portuguese in this state. |
