The city of Faridabad has been named after Baba Farid who founded it in early 17th century. It is Haryana's largest city and is a major industrial town. In addition of being a well developed commercial center, the city has a numerous tourist attractions in its kitty that make it a fine tourist destination. Constructed in a semi circular design, the city has emerged as a hub of several big and small scale industrial units. About 60% of city's revenues are geneatrated through them.

Attractions :

Badkhal Lake : This beautiful lake of Faridabad is located at 30 kilometers from Delhi. It is set with the amazing backdrop of Aravalli hills. You will be delighted to visit this splendid water body that is laced with picturesque beauty and fine surroundings. This nice picnicking site is visited by people residing in the nearby areas. Enjoy some of the adventurous water sports like canoeing, kayaking etc. For visitors from far flung areas, there are accommodation facilities that allow overnight stays. Camping is also possible here. You will see people from all age groups visiting the site. The place often remains crowded in summer season.

Surajkund Lake : Another lake which is also the venue of one of the biggest crafts fairs of India is Surajkund. This summer getaway pulls huge crowd. In the month of February, Surajkund Fair is organized and showcases a plethora of Indian handicrafts. The fair is participated by the artists from all over India. This is accompanied with cultural programs, acrobats, and magic events. You can also relish rural cuisines here.

Tomb of Baba Farid : The tomb of this Sufi saint is another attraction of Faridabad. It is visited by both pilgrims and tourists.

Nahar Singh Palace : Constructed by Balram, the palace is also called Ballabgarh Fort. The palace is named after the ruler Nahar Singh; it is a fine architectural monument. It was recently refurbished with antique pieces and age old relics.
