Gurgaon, one of the fastest growing industrial hubs of NCR, is a major tourist attraction. It is not only a blooming center of IT sector but also an important commercial town of Haryana. The destination is an interesting place to spend vacation time. The city is also referred by several sobriquets like "Satellite City", "Guru's Land" etc.

Though the city was a relatively backward area till recently, the pace at which it has progressed is amazing. Once you reach here, you will notice that the city abounds in several different types of industries like automobiles. In fact, you can look up for a number of top notch corporate centers that have thrived here since many recent decades. The place is a much sought after destination for major industrial firms that have been trying to establish their roots here. The location of the city near the metropolis Delhi has made it easily accessible.

Historical Significance :

As per the description in epic Mahabharata, Gurgaon was gifted by eldest of Pandava brothers, namely, Yudhishtir, to his mentor so that it can be used for warfare practices.

Attractions :

Shama Tourist Complex : This tourist attraction of the destination is located at a handful distance from the bus stand. The place is preferred as one of the stoppage points by the tourists who are traveling to Jaipur.

Sultanpur Sanctuary : This place for ardent bird lovers is a another tourist attraction that is situated at a distance of 16 kilometers from Gurgaon. Here, you can spend time watching different varieties of bird species. The place is a nice place for ornithologists. Look for the birds like ruddy ducks, cranes, pelicans etc. There are different watch towers and hide out places that are present at the premises of the sanctuary and make it easier for the tourists to have a watch on these lovely creatures.

Temple of Sheetla Devi : The temple is thronged by a large number of Hindu devotees; the temple premises remain crowded with an amazing number of people through out the year. The place, being on of the Shakti Peeths, is revered by the devotees immensely.

Nuh : Lying at a distance of 45 kilometers from the destination, Nuh is an old town where you will find a number of sandstone structures that depict the architectural styles of Rajput as well as Muslim era. Nuh is famous fort its shaking towers.

Sohna : The destination is a much sought after town that is haunted by a large number of tourists. Here, you will find nice accommodations; can spend time at one of the family huts. Depending upon your budget, you can also book one of the camping huts here and spend time relaxing and rejuvenating your energies.

Damdama Lake :
Covering the southern portion of Gurgaon, the lake is a picturesque spot that allows the visitors with all the comforts like restaurants, hovercraft, boating facilities etc.

Skyline : The city's skyline appears amazing at night time where you will be able to have the glimpse of the towering structures

Accommodation :

Ranging from very expensive to budget hotels, you will find almost all sorts of accommodations here. There is no dearth of five star hotels that provide all the top notch facilities to the guests. Vatika Garden, Plaza Solitaire, Saras Complex, Briston Hotel, The Radisson etc are some such examples.
