The Haryana State amazingly combines both plenty and antiquity. Since times out of the memory, it has housed many of the important civilizations and cultures of India. So the festive seasons in Haryana are blessed with traditional fervor and great enthusiasm. The Festivals in Haryana are made for thorough merry making. You will find Haryana participating in almost each and every festivals but the most fervously celebrated amongst these is Teej.The Harayana Festivals expresses simplicity of the crowd and vibrancy. The Harayana festival not only exalts your spirit but also enriches you from the monotonous schedule of your life.

There are Majorly five Festivals of Haryana :


Festival of Gardens :


Festivals of Gardens is a 3 day festival which is conducted by the Haryana State Tourism Board. This Festival is also called as the Rose Festival.This festival was started to appreciate and popularize the gardens amongst people. There are live music and dance performances with exhibitions of various flowers.

Geeta Jayanti :

Geeta Jayanti marks the birth of the sacred Hindu book Bhagvad Geeta.This festival commemorates on the 11th day of the Margasheesha month. According to the Hindu legend.Kurukshetra was the land where the Geeta was first revealed in front of Arjuna by Lord Krishna. This festival is celebrated with great pomp’s and gaiety in Haryana.

Guga Navami :

Guga is a religious festival, which is celebrated over all Haryana.This festival is inter connected with the worship of snakes. This festival marks its beginning in the month of August or September. There are many legends that have agglomerated around the Gugga pir or Zahir Pir (which is the other name for the God) the other name is baggar wala.He was known for the supernatural powers he possessed of curing people from snakebites. Monday is known to be his day as it is 9th.The shrine is of a square shape and has doomed roofs and minarets.

Mango Festival :

This is a unique festival celebrated in Haryana.Mango; the king of fruits is literally worshipped. This festival is popularity celebrated at Yadavendra Gardens.


Teej Fair:

It is one of the popular festivals of India. It is mostly celebrated in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar This festival is celebrated on the third of Sawan Sudi This festival is celebrated to commemorate Sawan (Rain).After the first spell of rain, a small red colored insects comes out from the earth known as Teej.Swings are arranged outside the villas. Girls apply mehendi (henna).

Surajkund Fair :

This fair started in the year 1981, organized by the Haryana Tourism Board. This fair was initiated to take arts and crafts of India to an international level. This fair addresses the finest artifacts and handlooms of the country, which are displayed here.

Kartik Fair :

The Kartik Fair is a popular fair held in the state of Haryana.This fair is solely held to promote martial art, classical music.dance, folk music and amazing forts of this land.This fair is held at Nahar Singh Mahal every year in the month of November.
