Chamba Valley :
Chamba valley is popularly known as Ravi valley among the local people. The valley is not known to everyone but communication has made the people curious to known about the valley. The valley has delightful sights in every corner and has a picturesque view. The picture of the valley is viewed at its best to the visitors where small villages have extended up to the landscape. There are trees grown in the lower part which include wild olive, fig trees and pomegranate mixing with acacia, pipal, shisham and other different tress.
The slopes of the mountain in the field is mostly small and is arranged in a raised level. The lower level border of each is built by a rough wall to make more level in the ground for ploughing. Every year only two crops are reaped in 2,500 m in the most parts of Chamba valley.
Chamba :
Chamba was founded by Raja Sahil Verma in 920 AD, who named this place after getting inspired from the name of his daughter Champavati,. It is situated on the south bank of the old Ravi River and is at a height of 996m above sea level.
Chamba valley is also known for producing a variety of flowers and medicinal herbs. The valley has good amount of population which is hardworking, honest and handsome.

Air : Gaggal is the nearest airport in Kangra valley that is 180 kms away from Chamba.
Railway : Pathankot is the nearest railway station and Chamba town is 122 kms away. This station has good connectivity with Bombay, Amritsar and Calcutta. The town is connected well with the other places in the state.
Road : It is comfortable to travel by road as the NH highway is a good option.
Local Transport : Bus service is available daily from Dalhousie and jeeps are also available but the charges are a bit high.
