Chango :
Chango is famous for its inspiring and awesome landscape. Kinnaur district that has a village named as Chango and is known to grow the finest apples being a monsoon free area. On the left bank of river Sipti there are 4 hamlets in Sub-tensil, Pragna Shuwa and Hangrang in Chango. Chango is the place from where the mountain area starts and it comes near the Tibetan border.
Buddhism is practiced by most of the people, but there are some followers of Hindu and the some local deities are known as Gyalbo, Yalsa and Dabla
Chamba is a place where you can buy good items of metal work. The tribal silver jewellery is available in the bazaar and is sold by weight. There is also a good collection of ceremonial trumpets and brass hookahs manufactured and curved by a Coppersmith.
The climate in winters here is freezing cold but quite pleasant in summers. There are no monsoon rains here and it comes in a dry zone which makes this place best for Trekking. It is advised to be done in the month between May to November to get a great experience.
The annual festival of Chamba is Suhi Mata festival which is celebrated for four days in the month of April. It is celebrated in the memory of Rani Champavati, wife of Raja Sahil Verma of 10th century.

Air : Gaggal is the nearest airport in Kangra valley that is 180 kms away from Chamba.
Railway : Pathankot is the nearest railway station and Chamba town is 122 kms away. This station has good connectivity with Bombay, Amritsar and Calcutta. The town is connected well with the other places in the state.
Road : It is comfortable to travel by road as the NH highway is a good option.
Local Transport : Bus service is available daily from Dalhousie and jeeps are also available but the charges are a bit high.
