Sangla :

Sangla is situated 17 kms away from the karcham and the journey from there is adventurous and enjoyable. It is a paradise as it is on the lap of the hills with the snow on the top and the sound of the river and leafs makes it more amazing. The valley has got its name from the village Sangla which is very beautiful. The natural beauty all around with the snow gives a picturesque view. The Bapsa River flows from here so it is also popular as Bapsa valley. In the District of Kinnaur, Sangla valley is known to be the best and popular among the people. Mount Kailash is also near this place.

Some important and rare herbs are found in Sangla including Apples, black cumin seeds, fauna and flora orchards. The lifestyles of the other two regions nearby are Batseri and Rakcham that are not known to the world and the life is difficult there.

Kamru Fort : Kamru Fort is also a village and is a kilometer away from Sangla. The fort looks like a tower which guarded the village and the beauty of it since centuries. Many Rajas and Kinnaur were crowned on the same fort.

Cities :

Chitkul : There are 3 temples of ‘Goddess Mathi’ that are popular. It is said that one of the temples was found 500 years ago. Bapsa valley has the highest and the largest village known as Chitkul

Adventure :

Sangla offers you a great experience of fishing, Trekking and paragliding which is famous among the people.

Climate :

The climate is cool and pleasant winters and summers are not so cold. There is a rainfall expected in the month of July to September. For winters one should carry woolen clothes and in monsoon rainy shoes for comfortable walking or for trekking.

Accommodation :

There are a few options for accommodations which include Kailash Guest house, Electricity rest house, trekking lodge and Bapsa guest house.

Transportation :


Air : The nearest airport is Jubbarhatti, Shimla and there is a good frequency of flights from Delhi.

Railway : There is no railway station.

Road : You can take a route of Chail which is near by or else other route of Shimla. The areas like Kufri and Narkanda comes on the way that has a great view.

Accommodation :


Taragarh Palace is in Taragarh situated 8 kms away to the east of Bajinath and is the most luxurious hotel available there. There is also an option for T- Bud hotel run by HTPDC.
