We have gone through the unusually planned civilization of Indus in our history books a lot of times. There are many who have looked steadily at the picture of Indus valley civilization in history books in a bid to reach the place virtually, as a child. For all those people who were carried away by the Indus valley there is a trek in Ladakh named the Indus valley trek.
The Indus Valley trek leads trekkers through rarely explored paths of Ladakh. The trek leads through a clean tract that runs along the old caravan route and falls through the middle of the Likkir and Temisgong mountain ranges. The Indus valley trek is for 13 days and among the long schedule there are leisurely tours to some of the major monasteries; Likkir, Rizong and Tamisgang.
The Trek :
After reaching delhi, trekkers and taken to a tour of the Leh city on the second day of the trek. On the 3rd day of the trek, trekkers indulge in the tour of Shey, Hemis Gompa and Tikse.The monasteries are regarded as the spiritual heart of Indus Valley.
The 4th day is utilized for a tour to the royal heritage of the state as trekkers pay a visit to the Stok palace. The next day in the trek includes an interesting tour i.e., visiting Alchi, Basgo, and Likir Gompa. The following day trekkers start moving along the trails as the walk through obe la to Yangthang and Rizong Gompa and again come back to Yangthang.
On the 10th day, the trekkers reach the trekking camp at Lamayuru and finally reach Leh from this site via jeep.
The wonderfully designed Indus valley trek is sure to make every trekker wish for a revisit to the valley. A single trip to the land of Jammu and Kashmir will open the door to several routes of varied landscapes to explore natural wonders.
