The land of Jammu has many ancient temples and palaces where the past still lives situated in the foothills of the beautiful Himalayas.King Suryavanshi Jambu Lohan after getting crowned once went for hunting and he saw a deer and tiger drinking water on a tank at the same place without disturbing each other. The king was surprised and after asking the ministers they said that the land of this state is so pure that the living creatures do not fight against each other.

Jammu is known as the city of temples where it has a number of palaces, forts and shrines. Bahu Mata is the deity worshiped by Jammu and Dargah of Peer Budhan Ali Shah is the protector of the people of Jammu.
Raghunath Temple is popular among the people and it is located in the city of Jammu in Jammu & Kashmir. The deity that is presiding is of Lord Rama. The construction of this temple was started by Maharaja Gulab Singh in1835 and was completed by Maharaja Ranbir Singh in1860. The temple is situated around the other temples in the heart of the city.
