Amar Mahal Palace Museum was the place where Raja Amar Singh lived earlier. This is located in Jammu. The palace is really beautiful which is made up of red stand stone which stands apart and is one of the best places from the other picturesque sites in Jammu & Kashmir. In the north there is the unforgettable view of Shivaliks and to make it more beautiful river Tawi flows from down. Now it is used as a Museum and is under Hari-Tara Charitable Trust.
The Beautiful Museum :
This Palace is now a Museum which is maintained and taken care by Hari-Tara Charitable Trust. There is a throne placed in the museum in a hexagonal room and the throne is made up of pure gold sofa and the golden lion is placed on it. The gold used is pure gold of around 120 kg.
In the museum there is a gallery of painting which is known as ‘Nal Damyanti’ The library in the museum is full of around 25, 000 different books on various subjects.
This is one of the best places to visit in Jammu. There is the Hotel Hari Niwas Palace which is a good place to stay and is a heritage building which is near this palace.
Reaching There :
The best way to reach there is by road. There are local auto available from anywhere in Jammu to make you reach to this destination comfortably. They will charge a nominal amount to make you reach there. There is also a service of Mini Bus but is not allowed to enter the palace. |
