Kashmiri cuisines are best known for their exotic variations given to each of the preparations.

Gushtaba :

It is pounded and the meatballs are cooked in yoghurt sauce .The meat that is used is generally of Goat. This dish is Spicy.

Tabak Maz :


It is a fried meat preparation and it is not spicy.

Nan Methi Kurma :


This is a perfect blend of vegetables and chopped intestines of goat.

Nadru Yekni :

This is a vegetarian dish made of yogurt and lotus roots.

Karma Sag :

Is made from the vegetable from Dal Lake, which is known as Lak.

Marchwangan Kurma :


A mutton curry that is served with hot rice.

Roghan Josh :

This is a very common and staple dish, made from mutton, yogurt and mix of exotic spices and other ingredients.

Kashmiri Nan :

It is the Indian bread baked with nuts and Sultanas. Trust me the taste will not go from your tongue, as it is just mind blowing and there is Fruit and Nut Pilau, which tastes like fruit salad, which is fried.

Alcohol :


As majority of people dwelling here are Muslims, accordingly to their tradition consuming alcohol is a sin so they atleast avoid it publicly. As a result, liquor is quite costly over here.
