Ramnagar National Park is very close to Jammu that is around 6 kms away. It falls in the Region of Jammu in Jammu & Kashmir. The sanctuary has eight species of mammals that includes the Barking deer, Nilgai, Rhesus, Wild Boar, Monkey, etc.
There are around 15 different species found in this sanctuary that includes the Indian Mynah, Peafowl, and Blue rock Pigeon, Red Jungle Fowl, Golden Oriole, Jungle Crow and White Cheeked Bulbul. The best time to view these mammals is from the month of September to March. The best time one can view most of the birds is from the month of March to May.
Tips Before Visit :
When you are visiting the Sanctuary please make sure that clothes or Dresses is in camouflage color which is khaki, green, etc. Do not make a loud noise which can disturb the lifestyle of the animals there. Do not Litter paper or throw left over food in the forest. Proper precautions should be taken during photography which will not disturb the animals and birds there.
There are many options for accommodation. One can easily get a hotel or lodge in Jammu which is one of the famous places in Jammu & Kashmir where people from all over the world come. The hotels with basic facilities and some hotels with good and luxurious facilities are also available.
In the sanctuary there is a hut which has two bedrooms available for the tourists for Overnight stay.
