Rajasthan is not just a state; it is the pride of India. It portrays that beauty of the country which belongs to the kingdoms and citizens of the most ancient of India. This is why despite the harsh climatic conditions, the state does not stop welcoming visitors, and the tourists do not cease to get attracted. Feudalism has preserved the most enchanting palaces and forts of Rajasthan. The remarkable legacies of the state that underline the tradition and the culture of the state, and, not to mention, the vivacious people and the vibrant colors of art and handicrafts- Rajasthan is all about wonders and wonderfulness.
The palaces and forts of Rajasthan are the most, or probably, the only unique attributes of the state. In fact, they are quite ancient for visitors to visit over and again; and yet the tourists have one name to say for a long and peaceful vacation- Rajasthan. The quality of art and culture are found in every bit of the state. This very place on the Earth is one of its own kind. There may be other palatial structures found in the country, elsewhere, but the essence of tradition and the closeness towards the tales of ancient Moghul and Rajout times, which are found to be sticking to the very soil of Rajasthan, are never to be matched with any other place across the globe.
The most striking features of Rajasthan lie in its majestic structures. Each city depicts its own characteristic and each palace and fort portrays the interests and lifestyle of its owners. Each ruler in Rajasthan has had a fort in the state. And every fort is similar and different from the others, at the same time. These palaces and forts of Rajasthan have to give their beautiful interiors, exteriors, architectures, antiques, jewelry, paintings, carvings, galleries, courtyards, statues and sculptures and so on, for the visitors to have a glance at. They are so enormous that one visit can only allow a single glance of every corner of the palace.
Most of these palaces are built originally by the famous rulers of Rajasthan. But some of them have been renovated by later kings and emperors. Every fort and palace has a distinct story to tell and a different reason to have become famous. The Chittaurgarh Fort is famous for its own story pertaining to the Ruler Maharana Pratap, and for being located specifically over a plateau. The Ranthambore Fort is recognized for being located inside a forest. There are many other forts and palaces in Rajasthan, like the City Palace Jaipur, the Amber Fort, the Deeg Palace, the Jal Mahal, and so on, which have their own stories to say. Let us begin our voyage of Rajasthani forts and palaces and get lost in the enchantment of the most traditional and heritage accumulated state of India. |
