Tonk was the only princely state in Rajasthan which was ruled by Muslims. There is a research institute in Tonk; known has Arabic Institute Tonk which has Arabic, Urdu and Persian manuscripts and atypical collection of literature from Iran, India & Arabian countries. Manuscripts, handwritten books and unpublished, largely poetry by Muslim poets, additionally Mughal literature can also be seen by the tourist in the collection of the museum.
The Famous Art Gallery Institute was started in 2002 which displayed artistic presentations of different classes, like the Namda calligraphy, collection of postage stamps, art of charming photographs, which is an eye-catching view for the visitors. Calligraphy on pulse, rice, human hair and sesame along with the lines written inside the transparent bottles has made Arabic Institute Tonk a center of tourist attraction.
A separate hall known has “Display Hall” is also maintained in the fro displaying historical and important manuscripts enriched with notes in their own handwriting with signature etc. and seal impression of princesses, kings etc., which are displayed in show chase with transparent glass for the people visiting the Arabic Institute Tonk. In addition there are also manuscripts with floral designs and golden frontispiece with the ink that is made of precious stones is a center of attraction here. |
