The astonishing beauty of the Ajmer city is known to every one. Ajmer is visited by several of pilgrim’s every year as there is a popular sacred shrine of Ajmer Sharif Dargah. This city has been a crowd puller. Many of the other attractions have also played a major role in beautification of the city like the popular Ana Sagar Lake. This city has been one of the important landmarks since the eleventh century. Ana Sagar Lake is situated on the Northern side of the city. As the Mughal captured the city of Ajmer, they had added some changes to beautify this lake.
This lake was constructed in the twelfth century and was named after the ruler of this city Anaji Chauhana.This Lake was constructed on the Luni River. Ana Sagar Lake is bordered by some wonderful attractions like the famous Daulat Bagh that was constructed by Shah Jahan and is completely made of marble stones. The other attractions around the lake include The Temple of Khobra Behroon on the Southern side of the lake, Taragarh Fort, Prithviraj Smarak, Adahi Din Ka Jhopra and Nasiyan. In the summer season, Anasagar Lake dries up. Ana Sagar Lake is an artificial lake that was created to serve the people of this city. Now a days, this lake acts as a tourist attraction and a major lifeline to the population of Ajmer.
The apt time to visit this lake is within the months of (October-March) as the climate is pleasant and the water level is quite high. |
