Fateh Sagar Lake

Udaipur is known as the lake city. This city has many things to offer, as there are many palaces, forts, temples, gardens and lakes. No doubt this city gets lots of tourist attraction over the year. Udaipur city contributes to larger extend to the Rajasthan Tourism. There are many lakes in this city but due to timeliness tourists visits some of them. Amongst all the lakes Fateh Sagar Lake gains a lot of attraction due to its scenic presence.

Fateh Sagar lake was built by Maharana Fateh Singh, ruler of Mewar state. This lake is situated to the north of another lake called Pichola. This lake has a history behind as it was constructed to meet the purpose of irrigation those days. But still The Fateh Sagar Lake is considered to be one of the most consumable source of water and it is the second most major source of drinking water for the Udaipur locals. This lake is pear shaped and is bordered by hills on eastern side.

There are three islands hovering this lake. Nehru Park is one of the largest lake amongst the three. The key feature includes it has a boat shaped café which is a hot sipping favorite amongst the visitors who stroll here enjoying the serene and transit beauty of this place. You can always opt for a general or a romantic boat ride with your partner and also for a long drive along the bank. The second island is known for the high resolution solar observatory which is installed there. So any of you interested in astronomy, this is the best place for you to spend time as you get the best solar images because of the secluded location. To the west of Fateh Sagar Lake lies the smallest island which is famous for Jet Fountain. The multi suited features and the scenic beauty of this lake makes it one of the must visit amongst others.
