This is an artificial lake located to the south of Jaisalmer . This Lake was constructed by Rawal Jaiswal and was the only source of water in the entire city of Jaisalmer. This lake has been through many changes across the time. The lake depicts a rich history as a result draws large number of crowd. This lake has got number of other attractions like Ghats, Shrines, Carved Temples and Chattris located on the bank. You will find a yellow sandstone arcade while you enter the lake, which is known as Tilon-Ki-Pol. This arcade was built by one of the prostitute against the wish of the king and also inscribed a small Temple of Lord Krishna so that the king couldn’t bring down the construction.
This lake is the hub for the migratory birds as they visit in winters. Gadsisar Lake is heaven for the nature lover. As it is made up of sandstone, during the sunset it changes its colors.
