Foreword :
The Sariska National Park stands on the Aravalis, and is a part of Tiger Reserve Project . This national park is tropical dry deciduous type with Dhok Tree being the most commonly found tree here. The Sariska National park was a hunting ground previously but then was converted in to national park.

Jungle cat, Wild dog, Jackal, leopard, Chausingha, langur, Sambhar, Hyena, Tiger, Wild Boar, Nilgai, Chitel Rhesus monkeys (Maximum number of them can be found here), large number of Crocodiles can be found on the Siliserh Lake.
Birds found here :
Grey Partridge, Sand Grouse, Crested Serpent Eagle, Bush Quail, Tree Pie, The Great Indian Horned Owl, Sand Grouse, and Peafowl. The Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary has started jeep safari and Camel safari for the better exploration of the sanctuary.

The Sariska Palace :
This palace was built by the maharajas of Alwar and now has been converted in to a hotel.
The Kankwari Fort :
This fort holds back historic influence of Aurangzeb who had imprisoned his brother.
The Shiva Temple :
The Neelkanth Temples within the sanctuary dates back to 6th-13th century AD and is a must visit due its marvelous architecture now though in a bad condition but still you get a feel.
Manglasar, Somasagar, Siliserh :
These are the three lakes, which majorly attracts animals, birds and tourists.
Hanuman Temple :
This is a major tourist spot as the famous Pandupol mela is held here. |
