Badri Kedar Festival is an important cultural event that is celebrated for a period of eight days. The festival is organized in the holy shrines of Kedarnath and Badrinath. The festival is a befitting tribute to the cultural heritage of India.

The shrines remain open for a period of six months (extending from the Hindu months of Vaishaka to Kartik). The temple is closed for the remaining time period as it is believed that the temple premises are visited by Gods during these months.
