In Uttar Pradesh, the town Varanasi is a major location, where stone carving is largely done by particular group or community which called as raidas. The two famous towns Mathura and Vrindavan has create the products of soft stone and marble. They create numbers of Krishna mementoes. There are several places in Uttar Pradesh which are popular for the work of statue such as Bageshwar, Hamirpur and Tehri Garhwal. For the work of agate stone Banda place is very well known.

Agra city of Uttar Pradesh is popular in the world for their work of marble and also the beautiful flowers which adds the beauty to historical Taj Mahal. Here craftsmen make the different pieces of structure which generally used in the construction of the building or any monument such as canopies, lattice windows, carved brackets, large basin and fretted balusters etc beautiful and useful parts which makes construction more attractive. There is no comparison with the amazing and world famous Taj Mahal which is located in the Agra. It had been totally carved in the pure white marble; the architecture of Taj Mahal had also used some colorful stones as a design. It contains around forty four different variety color stones. There is large variety of marble such as trays, bowls, trinkets, glasses, artistic jewellery, powder boxes, plates etc. they also use the Ivory in the decoration of architecture. The door of the Bikaner Palace has been decorated by using the ivory work.
