Being created 260 years ago Barua Sagar Tal is the largest lake created by Raja Udit Singh of the Orchha. The town around this lake is known has the Barua Sagar. Near to the Barua Sagar Tal is the Barua Sagar Fort, which has a panoramic view of the Baura Sagar town. Near to the lake are the Jarai-Ka-Math and the forts of Bundelkand which have historic background. This temple was built during the Pratiharas reign, its vigorous temple activity which became a characteristic attribute of the Chandellas which was a precursor activity of the temple.

This temple is dedicated to Devi Durga or Amba whose forms which are assorted which are represented in the profuse sculpture which are carved along the walls of the temple. The Bundelkand Fort which is being located at a great height this commands an excellent view of the landscape and surroundings. The Baura Sagar Tal is reachable by the road and rail with the nearby airports at Gwalior and Khajuraho.
