Being situated at the distance of 22 kms from the Nanital, which is named after one of the Pandavas called Bhim, this is known as the Bhim Tal. In the district of Nanital this is the largest lake which is even large than the Naini Lake by 265 metres. It is 1701 m by 265m.
The Bhim Tal is well known for the it’s magnificent majesty which is located at a 1371.6 metres of altitude of the sea level. It also has an island which is to the northeast side; in the middle of the lake is the wonderful gem. The island is just 91.4m from the shore, which is situated with the boundary of the temple bells, these bells from the 17th century means from past 300 years have been chiming. Taking the shadow of the mountain which rushes down to the precipitously down to the green lake emerald, the Bhim Tal. |
