The Wild Life of Uttar Pradesh is placed in the foothills of Himalayas and has number of exceptional species of the world. There are many national parks and wild life sanctuaries in Uttar Pradesh.

There are many tourists coming from all over the world to experience the wild life of the state. Some of them are famous all over the world that includes Corbett National Park that has diverse topography and vegetation. The park is popular among the tourists for Tiger and many people who love wildlife just come to see tiger. The park has maximum number of Tigers in the country. The experience to view the animals in their natural lifestyle is just incredible.

There are more than 315 species of birds and 23 species of animals living in Rajaji National Park. In Garhwal Himalaya there is Nanda Devi National Park which possesses an enchanting blend of flora and fauna.

The other parks that are intresting and worth a  visit include valley of flowers, Ranipur Wild life Sanctuary, Kaimoor Wildlife Sanctuary, Dudwa National Park and many more.

The Wildlife in Uttar Pradesh has an amazing collection of different species of animals. The capital city of Uttar Pradesh is Lucknow. The main attractions of the state are Agra, Taj Mahal, Imambara, The Ghats and many others. The best time one can see the animals and birds in the Sanctuary or the National park is from October to March.

Askot Wild Life Sanctuary :

 

Askot Wild Life Sanctuary is recognized in 1986 and is situated in Pithoragarh in the idyllic background of Indo-Nepal border. Pithoragarh is popularly called as ‘Mini Kashmir’ with its pleasing Kumaon Himalayas. The main species found in this sanctuary are Snow leopard, musk deer, Himalayan black bear, Bharal, snow cock, tahr, chir, monal, koklas, chukor and pheasants. The best time one can visit this place is from Mid-November to Mid-June.

Dudwa National Park :

 

Dudwa National Park is famous for Tiger Reserve which also has mosaic of grassland, lakes, marshes and Sal forest that makes this park very wild. It is located in Lakhimpur District on Indo-Nepal border. It is spread over an area of 614 sq kms.  Terai eco system is there in this park which is productive and exceedingly diverse and few remaining examples of the eco system. The main attractions of the state are Agra, Taj Mahal, Imambara, The Ghats and many others. The best time one can see the animals and birds in the Sanctuary or the National park is from October to March.

Kaimoor Wild Life Sanctuary :

 

Kaimoor Wild Life Sanctuary is establishes in 1982 which is located on the Uttar Pradesh – Bihar border. It is wildly spread over 500 sq kms. The sanctuary is reachable easily by road. The population of the sanctuary includes leopard, chital, blackbuck, peafowl, ratel and chinkara. The main species found here are Blue Bull, Antelope and Leopard. The best time is from November to April when one can see most of the animals as they come out.

Mahavir Swami Wild Life Sanctuary :

 

Mahavir Swami Wild Life Sanctuary is situated in Uttar Pradesh in Lalitpur. The sanctuary is spread over the area of 5.4 sq kms and is established in 1977.  Jhansi is 125 kms away from the sanctuary which is splendid entrance to the Bundelkhand, rendered well-known by the legendary Rani Laxmi Bai. The main species found here are Nilgai, leopard, Sambhar and wild boar which are the reason of attraction for number of tourists every year.

Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary :

 

Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary is famous for many water and migratory birds. It is situated 5 kms away from Lucknow. Tourists come here specially to see the migratory birds which cannot be seen easily. This is a perfect place for watching birds or doing photography. The sanctuary has a vast swamp and thin lake bordered with varied dry forest. The sanctuary has a good number of wildlife populations such as pochard, woodpecker, shoveller, coot, parakeet, and common teal and purple moorhen.  The main attraction of thee tourists here is parakeet and woodpecker. The best time to see these birds and animals here is throughout the year. 

Valley of Flowers National Park :

 

Valley of Flowers National Park is the park which has largest collection of the wild flowers of various species. It is located off Rishikesh-Badrinath road and is 16 kms away from Govindghat. The valley is very gorgeous and will be an essential treat for your eyes. The sanctuary was recognized in 1982 which was made to guard the catchment region of Pushpavati River and is the smallest national park in the Himalayas. The national park is spread over the area of 87.5 sq kms which has an altitude between 3,658m to 3,962 m. The best time to visit this place and enjoy is from Mid April to Mid august.

Chandra Prabha Wild Life Sanctuary :

 

Chandra Prabha Wild Life Sanctuary is located near Varnasi in Uttar Pradesh which is spread wildly around 78 sq kms. It was established in 1997. It is situated inn Vindhya forest range and is on Vijaigarh and Naugarh hillocks in Chandauli district. The main spices found here are Chinkara and Panther. The best time one can visit is from Mid November to Mid June. The flora and fauna in the sanctuary would be a feast to your eyes and is also loved by lovers of nature.

Govind Wild Life Sanctuary :

 

Govind Wild Life Sanctuary is located in Himalayan region which has high altitudes and is in Puraula tehsil. It is situated in the district of Uttarkashi that abundant green meadows around. The snow clothed peaks and glaciers are the most beautiful part of the region of Garhwal. The sanctuary sprawls around the area of 953 sq kms. The sanctuary is established in 1995. The best time to visit this place is from May to June.

Katarnighat Wild Life Sanctuary :

 

Katarnighat Wild Life Sanctuary is located in the Bahraich district on the Indo-Nepal border in the Terai area. The sanctuary covers the area of around 400 sq kms and was established in 1976. The wildlife population of the sanctuary includes Tiger, Swamp deer, Leopard, blackbuck, barking deer, chital. Nilgai, sambar, wild boar and sloth bear. The main attractions of the state are Agra, Taj Mahal, Imambara, The Ghats and many others. The best time one can see the animals and birds in the Sanctuary or the National park is from October to March.

Nanda Devi National Park :

 

Nanda Devi National Park falls in Chamoli district and is surrounded by the Garhwal Himalaya. Lata village is the main point for entry in the park. The place was announced as National Park in 1982. The park is spread over 630 sq kms with an altitude of 3500 m. The park is surrounded by huge mountain ridges and peaks on all sides apart from the western side which features a virtual and deep canyon which is not reachable. The most spectular wilderness can be found in this park which is also the highest mountain that dominated the others in India.

Rajaji National Park :

 

Rajaji National Park is popular among many tourists for its perfect scenic beauty and wealthy bio mixture. The amazing Dehradun valley is situated next to the park. This was declared as a park inn1966 and is spread around the area of 820 sq kms. Spread in the flourishing valley of the Shivalik Range, which makes this park the best picnic spot and holiday resort for the picturesque sites and for lovers of nature. The best time one ca enjoy this place to its best is from Mid November to Mid June.

Jim Corbett Park :

 

Jim Corbett Park is the most famous park in India and Tourists from all over the world come here to get the experience of the Wildlife situated here. Jim Corbett Park is the first national park of India and has a charming beauty and splendid submontane and riverine vistas. The rich wildlife of this park is very intresting. It is famous all over the world for Tiger.

The Jim Corbett Park was established by Jim Corbett and the Tiger project was launched in 1973. The main species other found here are Tiger and Elephant.

Hastinapur Wild Life Sanctuary :

 

Hastinapur Wild Life Sanctuary was establishes in 1986 and is spread over an area of 2073 sq kms. There are number of wild animals found in the sanctuary like swamp deer, nilgai, chital, leopard, wolf, gharial, hyena and wild boar. There are many spots here that are beautiful and picturesque. Many people come here from near and distance places to enjoy the time. The tourists here come from all over the world from which many are local people who come on weekends with their family to enjoy the wild life of the sanctuary. The best time you can visit this place and enjoy is from April to November. Photographers get some good pictures of beautiful birds which are found here. The sanctuary is located in Meerut, Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh in Jyotiba Phule Nagar.

Kedarnath Wild Life Sanctuary :

 

Kedarnath Wild Life Sanctuary is located in Chamoli in Uttranchal. The sanctuary was founded in 1972. The main spices that attract people are Musk deer, snow cock and Snow leopard. The best time one can go and view most of the animals in the sanctuary is from Mid June to Mid November.

National Chambal Wild Life Sanctuary :

 

National Chambal Wild Life Sanctuary is situated in Etawah, Agra in Uttar Pradesh which is founded in 1979. The sanctuary is widely spread over an area of 635 sq kms. The most people are attracted towards the species such as Alligator and Crocodile. There are many other animals found in the sanctuary which are rare and special. The visit to the sanctuary will give you an incredible experience.

Ranipur Wild Life Sanctuary :

 

Ranipur Wild Life Sanctuary is located in Uttar Pradesh and covers the area of around 230 sq kms. It is situated at an altitude of around 259 m. The main species found here are Leopard, Chinkara and Tiger. The other species that makes the sanctuary famous are Sloth bear, peafowl, Blackbuck, jungle fowl, spur-fowl, fishing cat and printed partridge.
