Govind Wild Life Sanctuary is located in Himalayan region which has high altitudes and is in Puraula tehsil. It is situated in the district of Uttarkashi that abundant green meadows around.
The snow clothed peaks and glaciers are the most beautiful part of the region of Garhwal. The sanctuary sprawls around the area of 953 sq kms. The sanctuary is established in 1995. The best time to visit this place is from May to June.
This region is blessed with some of the picturesque spots of mountains which include Black Peak, Swarg Rohini and Bandarpunch. Har-ki-Dun is a place which is popular among the trekkers which is famous for its verdant surrounding.
The Natural Inhabitants :
Govind Wild Life Sanctuary is popular for its wildlife population which includes brown bear, black bear, snow leopard, tahr, Serow, musk deer, Bharal, Trogopan chir, monal, khaleej and koklas, chukor and pheasants.
Deodar, Bhojpatra, sprice, banj, kharsu, pangar and pine are the vegetation of the forest.
Accommodation :
There are only few options to stay for the tourists. Forest Rest houses is one of the famous places to stay for tourists which have some basic facilities. There are also some other lodges and hotel which have some good facilities and located nearby the city.
