The relatively new state of Uttarakhand is a wonderful tourist destination of India. Though, the state came into existence in the year 2000, the immense popularity of various   that form part of it is noticeable. The state has been broadly segregated into two domains or districts, namely, Garhwal and Kumaon. In total, there are 13 districts that Uttarakhand is made up of. The cities of Uttarakhand are among the hot tourist destinations and are renowned for their natural splendor.

Most of the cities are nestled amidst the lofty Himalayan peaks and are marked by picturesque landscapes as well as spellbound imageries. Among the favorite destinations, Mussoorie is a fascinating one. Loaded with abundant natural beauty and pristine surroundings, it is among one of the most sought after destinations of India. Haridwar, the holy site located at the foothills of Himalayas, is supposed to be blessed by Trinity of gods (Brahma, Mahesh, and Vishnu). A place for unwinding spiritual energies, Haridwar has remained a center of art and Culture sine centuries.

Kedarnath, yet another hub of religion and spirituality is among the twelve Jyotirlingas that are dedicated to Shiva. Visit the famous Kedarnath temple that rests among the ice-capped peaks. Devoted to Lord Vishnu, Badrinath is perched on a height of more than 3100 meters. Badrinath Temple is highly revered and lakhs of pilgrims visit it every year.

Gangotri and Yamunotri, the source points of rivers Ganga and Yamuna respectively, are among the pharisaic places that are surrounded by breathtaking sceneries of ice-studded mountains and glaciers. From Gangotri, you can have remarkable views of Satopanth and Shivling peaks. At 3235 m from seal level, you will get to explore Yamunotri which is popular among the tourists for sites like Hanumanchatti, Sayanchatti, and Chamba.

Other cities of Uttarakhand include Chamoli, Champawat, Lansdowne, Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh, Champawat, Ranikhet and many more.
