Badrinath and Kedarnath Dhaam are the two most sacred pilgrimage placed in the Mighty Himalayan Mountains(Tehri-Garhwal).The route to the Badrinath is one of the strenuous route to the hilly terrain, cliffs and curves amid the beautiful place.
Badrinath Temple is a sacred place; the structure of the Temple was constructed by the Garhwal Kings, centuries ago. The temple has 3 sections Garbhagriha (Sanctum), The Darshan Mandup, Sabha Mandup.the Main area places Lord Badri Narayan, Narad Rishi, Nar and Narayan, Kuber who is known as the God of Wealth.
Kedarnath Temple :
Kedarnath Temple is located in the ravishing mountains cape of Garhwal Himalayas at the starting point of Mandakini River.Kedar means Shiva, The destroyer and Protector. The major attraction over here is the Lingam, which is not usual, it is pyramidal and is known to be one of the twelve jyotirlings.This temple is just open for six months as it is believed on the other months it is the turn of the Devas to take darshan.
One of the very famous festivals held at Badrinath and Kedarnath is the Badri Kedar Festival. This festival is held in the month of June. This Badri kedar Festival pays homage to the picturesque of the popular shrines. This popular and sacred festival is on for eight days and devotees from far end throng here to seek the blessings of the God. There is a unique sense of the Holy Spirit in the bank of the river when the Puja is performed. The devotees consider themselves blessed to attend this holy pilgrimage site. The atmosphere is lively and holy as the chanting of holy shlokas, morning and evening aarti and a splashy cultural revelry. Famous singing artists also come here to color the atmosphere with their overpowering devotional songs. This Festival is organized by the Uttarakhand Cultural Department at Haridwar and ends in Badrinath.Starting from Haridwar thousands of devotees’ swarms the bank of the sacred river to participate in the opening rituals of this sanctity festival.Badri-Kedar festival is one of the unique festival celebrated in India. |
