Andhra Pradesh is a land of culture, traditions and art; its cities are the epitome of the same. Most of the cities of Andhra Pradesh carry with them a magnificent history and are the reminiscences of their resplendent past. Many of them have opened their doors to modernity while others are still clad in the garb of antiquity. Visit to these cities will let you know more about their ethics, attitude and beliefs.

The ancient city of Hyderabad is a unique blend of several cultures. Its age-old monuments and larger than life minarets speak about its splendid past. Known for its valuable pearls and other jewelry; palatable cuisines, and the upcoming It industry, Hyderabad is the real gem of Andhra Pradesh. The architecture of Charminar and Golconda Fort is still appreciated.

At Machilipatnam, you can stroll on beaches or pay visit to its numerous temples. Important from commercial point of view, the city is famous of its carpet industry and production of scientific instruments. If history inspires you a lot, visit Adilabad where you can see a number of prehistoric sites. Guntur is one of the oldest cities of Andhra Pradesh; important from commercial point of view, this city excels in production of rice mills, tobacco barns and cotton industries.

Present at 154 kilometers from Chennai, Chittoor remained an important administrative center and was ruled upon by many mighty empires like Chola, Marathas, Mughals  and many more. The city of Nalgonda is rich in forts and temples; the architectural beauty of the monuments erected by Kaikatya rulers is worth noticing. One of the other cities of Andhra Pradesh where history left its imprints in the form of temples and mosques is Mahaboobnagar. Its Pillalamarri banyan tree is very old and attracts the visitors by the vastness of its canopy.

Nizamabad, a leading business and trading center, occupies a prime position as the producer of several food items like sugar, vegetable oil, and paddy. There are a few picturesque temples that you can pay a visit to. At Vijaywada or "Victory City", you can look forward to a plethora of temples that are not only significant for their spiritual importance but also for their rich culture of dance, music, and handicrafts. This colorful city boasts of several glittering festivals that are inherent in its culture.

Resting amongst three hills, Vishakhapatnam or Vizag is laced with a long and beautiful beach line. This major seaport is also amongst the leading ship building cities of Andhra Pradesh. Earlier a capital city of Kaikatya rulers, Warangal is another lovely place adorned with numerous relics and pieces of antiquities. Its Thousand Pillar Temple and Temple of Bhadrakali are major attraction for the tourists.

Tirupati and religion go hand in hand; its temple of Lord Venkateshwara carries a paramount importance to the pilgrims who arrive here from all parts of India. Such is the religious significance of the place that the shrine is considered as one of the busiest pilgrimages of the entire world. A home to performing arts, Rajahmundry is a city of some of the most important temples and renowned poets as well as writers.

Other cities of Andhra Pradesh like Nellore, Ongole, Eluru, Cuddapah, Adoni, and Karimnagar are also nice visiting places.
