This is one of the folk dance forms of the Andhra Pradesh. This dance form is situated in huge numbers of Andhra Pradesh state's tribes. This state contains very much prosperous dances of tribal and traditional folk dances. Within the region of Telangana, Bathakamma is essential festival. The duration of this festival is almost a whole month. While this festival, the residential people worship the idol of Bathakamma and they take it to the lakes and rivers, at the evening time, when water of Lakes floated. This dance form is especially of the women folk dancers, which located in the region of Telangana. They practiced this dance at the front side of the Goddess Bathakamma's idol. Majorly the newly wedded females practice, this dance with the happiness, to get the success and blessings from the god for their future life.
The legend of this dance highlighted the story behind this festival, that is in the earlier time, there are King, who had a very delightful daughter, whose name was Saijinbai. She got married but after some day, she sent return to her father's home through her in laws. The reason behind this was, she did not performing her household work efficiently. She was very tensed that time she started worshipping Bathakamma, the result was Goddess Bathakamma blessed her and she got her new happy life.
