This is one of the essential dance forms which is living in the Andhra Pradesh. This was born in the Kurmas period means Yadavas. The humans who dedicated their whole life in the singing through which they were worshipping the Lord Shiva. Yadavas were traveling village to village by singing the ballad; they were performing the themes of the Gods such as Yellamma Goddess, God Beerappa and Mallanna. This performing act is very much popular in the Andhra Pradesh's Telangana region. The name of this art is belongs to the musical instrument's name that is Oggu. This was used in the start of their every story & even in the occasion of the marriage and Mallanna festival. The real meaning of the Oggu is submit. Oggus are known as those priests, who commit their selves to the Mallanna, their god of family.

This performing art of the Andhra Pradesh is also called by the name of Jaggu. This is a folk name which was dedicated to the Damruka of the Lord Shiva. The performers who act the Oggu Katha are around four to six artists; within them one person is head player of instrument and narrator. The head narrator dressed the dhoti till the knees, colorful cloth to waist and head, colorful shirt and the ankle bells. This type of performing are educate the village people about the historical period, which they haven't studied in the books. For you also this Oggu katha's performance would be every entertaining and educative.
