Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam also called, as TTD Gardens are lovely gardens with unique species of trees and plants. This garden is well maintained by the “Devasthanam”.This garden is placed in the heart of the Tirumala city and the total area of the garden is 460acres.This place is a must visit if you visit Tirupathi as your eyes will solace the eternal beauty with over two hundred types of plants.
You can spot 4 nurseries over here attached with obscure chambers.Sri Padmavathi Guest House, Divyaramam area, Travelers Bungalow and Gogarbham Dam. These nurseries are quite interesting, as many hybrid plants are grown, raised and developed here.
It is said that this garden was started by the renowned Vaishnava Acharya Sri Ramanuja and his disciple Sri Anandalwar in the late 14th century. There is a huge temple were you can find inscriptions of the late 14th century and descriptions of many exotic flowers of that period.
The flowers that are needed for the Puja at the temple are all met by the flowers grown in the gardens. It supplies flowers for the garlands and for decorating, the mandaps, vahanas and pandals.This garden devises horticulture flower show known as Pushpa Yagam that is organized every year on the occasion of Brahmotsavam.This garden is a must visit to enrich this magnificent beauty.
