Andhra Pradesh is situated on the SouthEastern coast of India. The state of Andhra is the fourth largest state of India in terms of Area and 5th largest in terms of population.

The total area of the state is 275,068 sq. km. the Coast line of Andhra is the second largest in India and has a length of 972 km.
Terrain :
As per the geography of Andhra Pradesh, the state comprises a significant share of Deccan plateau. The plateaus of the Northern region of Andhra are separated by River Krishna. It has discontinuous ranges of mountains of Eastern Ghats over its coastline. The western and south-western parts of Andhra show a semi arid condition.
Climate :
Monsoon is the dominant season in Andhra Pradesh and typically July to September is the time for tropical rains in the state. November to February is the time for winter.
Important tourist destinations :
Tirumala Venkateswara Temple at Tirupati is the most visited religious place of any faith across the world. Thousand Pillars temple in Warangal is famous for its temple carvings. Monuments include Srisailam temple and temples at Lepakshi village. Borra Caves located in the Anatagiri Hills, Charminar, Falaknuma Palace and Qutub Shahi Tomb.

By Air : Andhra Pradesh has a number of Airports aprt from the Hyderabad international airport, which is also known as Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. Other airports are Visakhapatnam Airport, Rajahmundry Airport, Vijayawada Airport and Tirupati Airport. Governement have undertaken other airport projects at Ongole, Guntur, Warangal, Kadapa, Nellore, Tadepalligudem, Kurnool, Ramagundam and Kothagudem.
By Rail : At Anfdhra Pradesh the major network of Railways is served by East Coast Railway. Its service is found Vizianagaram District, Srikakulam, and Visakhapatnam City. The states busiest railway station is Vijayawada Railway Station. |
