Falaknuma is a glorious palace constructed by Nawab-ul-Ulmara who was then the Prime Minester of Hyderabad. It was then gifted to Mehboob Ali Khan who was the ssixth Nizam of Hyderabad. The meaning of the name Falaknuma is ‘Star of Heaven’. This place is an unusual combination of Italian and Tudor architecture.
Nagarjuna Sagar Dam is the longest masonry dam all over the world which is placed on the border of Guntur - Nalgonda district. The construction of dam was completed in 1966 and the height is 124 kms with the length of 1 km. Across the river Krishna this dam is constructed with the highest number of networks of canal systems irrigating over 2,000,000 acres of land in Guntur, Nalgonda, Prakasam, Krishna and Khammam districts.
Qutub Shahi Tombs are erected in the remembrance of the departed King of Golconda which has seven toms in the marvelously laid out gardens of Ibrahim Bagh. Situated just a kms away from Golconda Fort theses are the glorious monuments of architectural superiority. These tombs make us remind the glory and the grandeur of Galconda and the other great Kings who are buried here. Srisailam is at a distance of 98 kms from Markapuram. The Srisailam dam is built across the Krishna River. The dam is placed in deep gorge in the Nallammalai hill range. One can experience the natural beauty spread al around the dam. The elevation of the dam is around 300 m above sea level and 512 m long. This dam is one of the twelve biggest hydroelectric projects in the country. It has 12 radical crest gates. The dam is sited in the Srisailam in Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh. The Dam is spread over wildly with an area of around 80,000 hectares.
