The patterns are the basic geometric combinations, triangles, diamonds, and squares; the needlework is a vital part of this craft. Using colorful threads the Banjaras produce lively embroideries. This people just need needle, cloth and thread and then their imagination starts in full swing. By the use of fingers intricate stitches in vibrant colors, shells, mirrors and use of beads are done.
The distinctive feature of Banjara Needle Craft is the extensive use of mirrors. It has a rich appearance which is created in the background by filling it with herringbone, simple chain stitch, short and long stitch. The typical items of the art form are skirts, cushion covers, bags, blouse pieces, dress materials, kurtas, bed sheets and household furnishings.
