Dokra is the craft that is very famous in the tribal belts of Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and Madhya Pradesh. The special feature of this craft is that no pieces of the craft are similar. Each is part of the craft is different from each other. In Andhra Pradesh this craft is found in the Adilabad district in Chittalbori and Ushegaon.
The process of making Dokra is every complex. Firstly, the craftsman has to make a sample in with wax which as a hole in it for the metal to be poured inside. After the metal gets hardens up the wax mold is broken in the way that the metal come out of the shell and then necessary touch ups are given to the craft, so that it could be called has perfect.
Dokra is mainly used for making idols, jewellery, statues and many other decorative items. The decorative compositions like chains, stands, lamp holders and vases are also made through this. This art has boasts of the literal folk essence and is also cultural.
