Andhra Pradesh is a significant and quaint region in India which has remarkable rock formations, numerous lakes and squat hills. The deltas of Krishna and Godavari are very broad and form a lake in between which is known as ‘Kolleru Lake’. It is the biggest lake for fresh water in all over India. In the center of Hyderabad, there is popular Hussain Sagar Lake, which is among the largest man made lakes in Asia.

The Shamirpet Lake and the Durgam Chervu which is also generally called as “the Secret Lake” are the best weekend gateways sited in the fringes of Hyderabad. Across the Manjira River there is a huge reservoir built called as Nizamsagar which is well known for the scenic beauty surrounded all over the place. The other popular small lakes (cheruvus) in Andhra Pradesh are Pakhal Lake in Warangal, Khambham Lake in Rajahmundry and the Pulicat Lake in Nellore. These lakes of Andhra Pradesh make the state mare beautiful and picturesque.

Andhra Pradesh is also famous for its traditions, language, inhabitants and food all over the country. The language here is very intresting which people eagerly take note and some would study the language. The food of Hyderabad is very prominent like the Biryani of Hyderabad, may be it a vegetarian Biryani or Non-vegetarian Biryani. People who travel to Hyderabad make sure that they taste the famous Biryani there and the non-veg Hyderabadi Biryani is mostly consumed by the people and is known all over the country.

The Lakes in Andhra Pradesh attracts numerous tourists which are also from the other countries. The capital city of Andhra Pradesh is Hyderabad which can be reached effortlessly. The major attraction of tourist here are Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Vijaywada, Puttaparthi. The best time to travel around and enjoy the lakes in Andhra Pradesh is from October to March.

Lakes in Andhra Pradesh :

Durgam Cheruvu is an exceptional lake full of prehistoric rocks that is also popularly called as the ‘Secret Lake’. It is known as secret lake because it is situated in a place which is hidden by the astonishing rock formations. It is sited close to the Shilparamam Crafts village at Madhapur. This lake is recently been developed by the department of State tourism that attracts picnic goers on a huge scale. This is one of the best places where people enjoy Water Scooter riding, Pedal Boating, Trekking and Camping.

Hussain Sagar is among the biggest man made lakes in Asia situated in the hub of Hyderabad City, contributing to its enormous beauty. It is a rambling non-natural lake that holds water continuously. It was constructed in 1562 during the supremacy of Ibrahim Qutub Shah, on a stream of river Musi. The exclusive quality of this lake it joins the identical cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. It is usually known as the Tank Bund.

Kambham Lake is situated in Rajahmundry that is to the east of Godavari District. It is also popularly called as Kambham Vari Cheruvu, Kambhala Cheruvu. It is said to be constructed by Mr. Kambham Narasingarao Pantulu in 185-1850.

Kolleru Lake is formed by the deltas of Krishna and Godavari which are very wide. This is the largest lake for fresh water in the whole country. It is situated at a distance of 95 kms from Vijayawada. During the season of monsoons the lake spreads around 260 sq kms.

Nizamsagar is a giant reservoir that is built across the River Manjira. It falls between Banjapalle and Achampet villages of Nizamabad district. It is a stream of Godavari River. The scenic and breathtaking beauty of this place attracts number off tourists from near and far places.

Pakhal Lake is a manmade lake constructed by the Kakatiya King, Ganapathidev in 1213 AD. They constructed it by harnessing a small stream of Krishna River. It is situated at a distance of 50 kms and is widely spread over an area of around 30 sq kms.

Pulicat Lake is known as the Second biggest Brackish water Lagoon in India that is along the coast of Bay of Bengal. The migratory water birds are mostly attracted towards the backwaters of the Sea. It is also a popular breeding and feeding ground for a number of terrestrial and aquatic birds. The lake is spread over widely over an area of around 500 sq kms. The best time one can take a trip to this place and enjoy to its best is from October to March.

Shamirpet Lake is a perfect place for a pleasant outing and also an enchanting picnic spot. This is an artificial lake which was constructed by a Jagirdar of that area almost more than 50 years ago. It is situated at a distance of around 27 kms from Hyderabad. This is one of the famous places where people usually come for the picnic with their family and friends. There are many couples who come here to spend a descent time with their loved ones.
