Hussain Sagar is amid the biggest man made lakes in Asia sited in the hub of Hyderabad City, contributing to its vast beauty. It is a rambling non-natural lake that holds water continuously. It was constructed in 1562 during the domination of Ibrahim Qutub Shah, on a stream of river Musi. The exclusive quality of this lake it joins the identical cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. It is usually known as the Tank Bund.

The Tank Bund :

This place is famous among people and is known as the Tank Bund. The Hussain Sagar Lake is a major attraction for its 350 tonne monolithic, 16 m long Buddha Statue placed on a rock of Gibraltar. It is fine sculptured and made up of white granite that stands grandly between the glistening waters of the lake. The either sides of Bund have 33 statues of great personalities of Andhra Pradesh. These statues seem to be a hushed spectator to the varying colours of the city.

The Water Sports Exploration :

This place is perfect for holidaymakers and water lovers and since long years it has been a best evening spot and the health conscious people stretch their muscles in their jogging tracks in the morning. The evening time at this place is full of families and young couples.

There are sailing clubs on the both sides of the tank. The one which is towards is called as the Secunderabad Boat Club which provides facilities for yachting and is considered as among the best boat clubs of India. There are number of sports persons coming to this place for the annual water competition known as ‘Regatta’. At the time of regatta competition the lake looks colourful and panaromic with the sailing yatches on the glistening waters.
