If you travel fifty three kilometers away from Bangalore City, over the Mysore Banglore road, that is located at Ramanagaram, you will reach Janapada Loka. It is a supplementary of Janapada Parishath Karnataka. It has been registered during 1979, as a Public Charitable trust, the major motto behind the establishment of this trust is promotion and preservation of Karanataka state's folk arts. Within the fifteen acre complex area, Janapada Loka activities are majorly organized. This trust is mainly situated within the huge and expansive verdant belt that includes museums with folk elements like theatre, gallery, studio, and various specified areas like discussions, seminars and informal meetings.
In this museum you can see almost five thousand artifacts. From the tribe's life till the crafts that is stretched over Assam State. Through this you can know the importance of folk culture that has music, literature, festivals, dance, lifestyle, paintings and theatre etc. At the museum's extension, there is a folklore huts of every district, that has focused over akin objects carried from various areas. Karanataka's Janapada Loka is similarly excited in participating in the documentation of Karanataka's folk heritage.
Visiting Time :
You can visit this museum during the visiting time that is 08:00am till 05:00pm. Museum is closed on Tuesday and government holidays.
If you want to get the pictures of this museum then first you have to pay some fixed fees such as for still photography you need to pay hundred Rupees and for video photography you have to pay five hundred. |
